If you want some pointers as to where to start, check out the list below. These dishes are a great starting point when you’re looking to spoil your Ukrainian single.

Borscht

If there is one place to start for a romantic, Ukrainian-inspired meal, then it’s with the national dish of Ukraine. Borscht is a sour soup which is common in Ukraine as well as in parts of Russia. The key ingredient is beetroot which gives the soup its distinctive deep purple color. It could make a great starter for a meal consisting of several courses. Your Ukrainian single will love it.

Chicken Kiev

Okay, so this dish is a little more westernized, but it originated in Ukraine and remains a favorite in many areas of the country still, notably with tourists visiting the major cities. The dish consists of a price of chicken, usually breast, filled with garlic butter and coated in breadcrumbs. It’s then fried. If you’re making this from scratch, it’s pretty impressive, but you will need some patience and practice to ensure the garlic mixture doesn’t run during cooking!
